Welcome to our Visual Arts Project! This year you are going to create a virtual gallery of graffiti.
But before you start, what do you think about graffiti? Is it art or vandalism? Write your opinions in the comments.
Then look at the graffiti by these artists and choose one you like; pay attention to the style, what techniques do they use? What are their predominant colours?, what do the colours transmit? What message do the graffiti express?

Victoria Valderrama, Abril De Rose, Oriana Smith: We think that graffiti can be a form of expression if it is made in a mural or a wall in an empty house (for example ). But if it is made in a private property we think that it is vandalism and also in historical places (the Cathedral for example ).
ResponderBorrarLuca Warrand: In my opinion it depends the person who sees the graffiti, and it depends on the tagger who makes the graffiti. Becaude the most importsnt thing is that what the grafiti represents and who makes it. For example: if a person makes a mural in a house for the owner of this house and the owner pays that oerson for the painting, then he is a tagger. But if a person writes bad words in the house of someone else for no reason, then he is a vandal.
ResponderBorrarCurima, Garay, Takara: We think graffiti is an art expression because we feel that any manifestation against the repression is art.
ResponderBorrarRodrigo Figueroa, Champane Valentino:We think graffiti is art. But it becomes vandalism when it’s done on private property without permission of the owner .
ResponderBorrarMarcos Vaudagna: It’s a good way of art that everyone can do. I think if you make a graffiti in a private property it’s vandalism but if you do that on an abandoned house for me that’s not vandalism .
ResponderBorrarFacundo: Graffiti is vandalism unless it is done in the form of protest.
ResponderBorrarMáximo Repollo: Graffiti is vandalism only if it’s made in private property without permission , but in the other way it is art.
ResponderBorrarBellingeri, Cercatto, Cappelletti : In our opinion, graffiti could be considered art on certain occasions . It varies according to the message, where it is made and the message it conveys. For example, when the graffiti is made on private property and doesn’t have any message, it could be considered vandalism. But if the graffiti has a message, for example if it speaks about a social problem, and it has an artistic goal, it could be considered art.
ResponderBorrarTrotta, Islas , Aguilera: Graffiti is a form of expression , it is the art of each one.
ResponderBorrarSantiago Sposino : It’s a very cool way of art that all the people can do. Only the old people think about it as vandalism.
ResponderBorrarBautista , Morena: We think that graffiti is a unique and individual way of expression, therefore it is art. but it has to meet requirements such as the space where it is made, respect private property or ask permission, social and historical context, and others. In Paris several proposals were proposed, and walls were built in public spaces where graffiti can be done freely. In the city of La Plata, the same could be done in parks and squares.
ResponderBorrarLuciana Palhao, Candela Palacios : In some cases Yes, and others, not, depending on what they are transmitting and where they make it.
ResponderBorrarPilar Talpone, Milagros Tellechea, Camilo Corso: For me, graffiti is art as long as it’s a pretty picture. Painting on a private property without permission is vandalism. I also agree when people make demonstratio s and make graffiti. It’s a way to express yourself and show their thoughts about the topic
ResponderBorrarYosco, Islas, Trotta: In our opinion, graffiti is art that serves as a form of expression to give a message and also to decorate
ResponderBorrarAlison León: I think graffiti is good as long as they have a message to give, if it’s just for the sale of painting something, I consider it vandalismand even a crime because they make a space dirty that is not theirs.
