Graffiti has been around for decades around the world. It has been a way of expressing ideas, feelings and emotions in a unique way, both in words and images.

There’s one definition of Art which says Art is emotion. This is my sister’s favourite definition, she’s a Teacher of Art and since she commented me about it a long time ago, I have felt it’s one of the simplest but at the same time one of the deepest definitions of Art one can think of, don’t you agree? It makes me think of this beautiful graffiti which shows Cobre’s child when he looks at his father while he is making a graffiti.

Hello, my name is Laura, I´m 17 years old and I’m from La Plata. I was born the 1st of January of 2000 in the night, that day my mum was celebrating New Year with my family. I live in Los Hornos with my family and my pets. I’m two years older than my sister and I’m in my last year of school. Next year I’m supposed to be studying at university, but I really don’t know what I am going to be studying.

I play the piano since I was 11 years old. Two years ago from now I got into the Conservatory of Music Gilardo Gilardi, and now my life is totally dedicated to that, basically, besides school. I play classical music like Bach, Schumann, and others. I also love playing songs from films like Titanic, Untouchables, A Dog’s Tale and Twilight. One of my favourite composers is Ludovico Einaudi. He’s a composer and pianist from Italy and he has worked a lot since the 80’s. My favourite song is “Una Mattina” but I also love “Nuvole Bianche”.

I love watching films. I almost like all types of films (I don’t like the horror ones), from the drama ones to the most silly comedies. My favourites are the cartoons and the sad ones. The last one that I saw at the cinema was Beauty and the Beast, and I really liked it. I also love watching series, maybe more than films, I don’t know. Last month I finished watching Thirteen Reasons Why and I loved it.

I like dancing, very much! Going to parties with my friends and sometimes staying at home. I like to sleep in the afternoon and when  I wake up to drink coffe, I love it! With my family we usually go to Brazil on holiday, I love the country’s climates.

Hi , I'm Rocio.

  I'm from La Plata, Argentina and I've got a sister, her name is Candela. She is twelve years old. I'm seventeen years old and this is my last year at secondary school.

 We have got a dog, his name is Timon.

 

 

                                               

 I love expressing myself by art.

         I like drawing, painting and playing and listening music. I love playing the violin, but playing piano relaxes me.

 About food... I like a great variety of dishes, from pasta to seafood, vegetables, etc.

 I love cooking sweet food, for example: pies, puddings, biscuits  and cakes.

      I love reading. Now I'm reading "The darkness of colours" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" I love Harry Potter.

    As well as reading, I also love watching series and films. I'm currently waiting for the premiere of the last episodes of "Pretty Little Liars" and also waiting for the premiere of "Pitch perfect 3", Rebel Wilson is a great comedy actress, she makes me laugh a lot.

  My name is Lucas and I am 17 years old. I live in La Plata with my family: my mother, my father and brother. My brother is 16 years  old  and he attends school also. I have a pet, a dog, its  name is Luna and it is a Labrador. I like playing basketball, it is my favourite sport, and football. I’ve practised basketball in Atenas from seven years.

My favourite basketball team is Golden State Warriors, whose stadium is in Oakland and its name is “Oracle Arena”.

And other team I like is Boston Celtics , it is the most  successful team in the NBA history. I would like to travel to USA.

Stephen Curry is my favourite basketball player. He is playing in Golden State Warriors. In the season 2014-15, he and his teammates won the NBA championship, he was MVP in this season and the next ( 2015-16 ). He is the best shooter in the NBA.  Some of his Records were : NBA regular season record for made three-pointers (402) ;NBA record for most consecutive regular season games with a made three-pointer (157).

My name is Ariana. I am 17 years old.  I was born in La Plata Known for being nicknamed " the city of the diagonals "  on September 11 in the year 1999. I live with my mother, his husband (Peca his nickname) with my sister and my 3 beautiful pets Cleopatra and Tamara that they are 2 dogs (females) caniche toy and my cat so called mishu (rescued of the street) I Am in my last year of secondary and am very happy to end and to be able to study a career that really I like, really I did not have problems in deciding and it was a great relief for my.

In my free time I am charmed with seeing series in netflix, my favorite series is "Supernatural" (recommended to 100 %) but also I love many original series of netflix as sense8 stanger things etc. I love to be able to sleep a siesta when I can.

I enjoy very much to listen to music when I am put to bed in my bed, it relaxes very much, is my routine before going away to sleeping almost always . I do not have a singer in specific that I like for that I like many types of music and to decide serious complicated . My favorite song of the moment is of electronics :

   Hi!! I’m Lucía, I’m seventeen years old and I’m from La Plata, Buenos Aires. My pets are a dog, a turtle and a fish.

   I like painting and drawing and, my favourite painting is “Starry Night” of Vincent Van Gogh, but I don’t think about studying something linked with this next year.
   I’m deciding what career to study because I love neurosciences but I don’t know if Medicine is my profession. It’s a really hard decision, but I feel that I’m going to study Medicine.
   Also, I like reading books (novels specially), and the last I read was “Thirteen Reasons Why”. Now there is a series but is very different to the book. I’m angry for that. If you want to see it, you can do it in:

   I’ve always been a nerd, What I can do? I can’t change.
   In my free time I go to gym and cook. Yes, I know, is a rare fusion.
   Like everybody, I love singing in the shower but my voice is so peculiar to be listened by people.
     
   I talk so much, it’s impossible to stop me, including when I was in the kindergarten, my teacher sent a note for my parents saying my bad behaviour at the class because I always talk with everybody.

Hi, My name is Delfina. I am seventeen years old. I am an only child and living with my Mom in a flat in La Plata city. I am attending my last year of High School at Colegio Mac Kay. I still do not know what I am going to study at University. I am in between Law School and Psychology, but I am sure that the career that I will choose will not be related to Maths because I hate them.

I have two adorable pets: a cute and crazy kitten called Angie -like the Rolling Stone´s song-  and a little dog called Bruno that is older than Angie but smaller in size (he is a mini-toy caniche). Each afternoon, I love to take a nap with both of them.

In my free time, I enjoy watching TV series on Netflix. Now I became addicted to "Friends".

I really like walking down the streets of my beautiful city, especially in Autumn enjoying the different colours of the trees.

One of my favourite places in our city is our wood.
People go their with their families and pets at weekends.
Every day you can see people jogging and cycling, too.

Hello, nice to meet you!

Welcome 6th year students! 

This is your last year at secondary school and here we are starting our English classes. 

Let me introduce myself. I'm from La Plata and I've got a twin sister. She's a teacher of Art and she can speak English, too.
Teaching is my passion but I love learning, too. I have always loved reading and my favourite short story is called The Gift of the Magi, by O'Henry, an American writer who was born in the late 19th century. There are some film versions and the last one was in 2010. 


I like singing and listening to music. One of my favourite singers is Sarah Brightman, from Britain. She sings opera but with a unique style, with a fusion of opera, classical and pop music. I saw her in a concert live at Luna Park in 2009. She was great! 


This is a picture of her last album, called Gala. She has just released it this year and it is a collection of some of her most famous songs.

One of my favourite films is The Lake House, with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves and the Argentinian Alejandro Agresti was the director. It's not a typical story. That is what makes it interesting. Here you can watch the film trailer:

An Interestin Life: A Legacy for the World: Leonardo Di Caprio

Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio

Born in 1974 in Los Angeles, California, Leonardo DiCaprio is an actor and a film producer known for his edgy, unconventional roles. In the early 1990s, DiCaprio began his career by appearing in television commercials, after which he had recurring roles in various television series. He then moved on to film, scoring an Oscar nomination for his role in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993). In 1997, DiCaprio starred in James Cameron's epic drama Titanic, which made him a huge star. His more recent films include Inception (2010), Django Unchained (2012), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and The Revenant (2015), winning his first Oscar for the latter. 

We think he is really interesting because besides being an incredible famous actor and a film producer, he cares and has time for being an environmentalist too. In 2000, he hosted an Earth Day celebration and interviewed former U.S. President Bill Clinton for a television segment about global warming. DiCaprio also wrote, narrated and produced The 11th Hour, an environmental documentary that was released in 2007.  

From a benefit "11th Hour" fine art auction he organized in 2013, he raised nearly $40 million to toward his foundation. He told attendees, "Bid as if the fate of the planet depended on us." It became the world's highest-grossing environmental charity event ever held. DiCaprio states that global warming is the world's "number-one environmental challenge". In July 2016 his foundation awarded $15.6 million to help protect wildlife and the rights of Native Americans, along with combating climate change. 

At the 2016 Oscar ceremony, DiCaprio won the award for Best Actor. He used his acceptance speech to express his appreciation and worry for the environment: “Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this. For our children’s children and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed.”
